Of course, the ultimate goal for insurance agents is to keep the policy holders happy. But accomplishing that goal can seem complicated and difficult as the providers must ensure client satisfaction as well as meeting financial goals. As the qualities of each restoration company will significantly impact your clients, it is best to do the research on each provider to determine the vendor that is most suitable for your policy holders.

After doing some digging, you will find that those who have good reviews, years of experience, and are licensed in providing their services are those who will stand out. With years of experience to prove it, these providers will be more than qualified to serve your policy holders while still allowing you to meet your financial goals.

How to Choose the Best Restoration Company

In your search for finding a restoration provider for your policy holders, finding the best one is crucial; they are depending on you in emergency situations to help them get back on their feet as quickly as possible. But in order to get them back on track, only the top-performing restoration companies will have these qualities:

1. Responding Immediately

When a customer’s house is on fire or their house is flooded, there is no time to waste as the damage is spreading by the second. This means that costs are rising for each minute that the response is delayed. When doing your research, check out their response time as well as their availability. Only the top providers will be available 24/7/365 to respond to water and fire emergencies. In addition, they should arrive within 2-3 hours of the initial call with all tools, equipment, and products necessary to prevent the damage from spreading and limit time and costs in repair.

2. Full Communication

Experienced restoration providers will understand their requirements during the claims process. They should also know how to educate your customer in terms of what is needed on their part, such as creating a detailed inventory of items that were damaged, preserving damaged areas until an agent arrives to gather photographic evidence, and recording any purchases of items needed for immediate use. In addition, restoration vendor should answer you right away and provide detailed answers to your questions. In sum, the best restoration companies are fully aware of this process as they have worked with numerous claims in the past.

3. Years of Experience

It is very important to check how many years the provider has been in business. Many years in business indicates financial success; therefore, it can be concluded that they provide quality services. Be sure to check their reviews and testimonials, finding that they not only know what they are doing, but also have high customer satisfaction.

A top-performing vendor should also be able to handle both large and small-scale projects as well as commercial and residential properties. As insurance policies differ for homes and businesses, so do restoration services. When a vendor is available to handle any type of job from water, fire, or mold, you won’t have to worry about relying on multiple providers for different properties.

4. Accurate Estimates

If a restoration company provides an estimate without looking at the scope, size, or type of damage, either they will not provide a quality service or the invoice will be significantly different than the estimate. Or if a company provides an estimate that is significantly lower than the rest, they most likely will not provide the same quality.

It is best to call each provider, asking questions about their services and how they price out each procedure. This way you can become familiar with the cost even before they arrive for an estimate. But keep in mind that prices will vary slightly, according to the unique features of each vendor.

5. Brand Name Recognized by the Nation

In addition to researching individual providers and franchises, research the corporate site and review their mission and values. As corporate offices will have specific regulations and guidelines for each franchise, it is important to know what they consider most important as well as their commitment to exceed customer expectations. Finally, knowing that the same commitment and dedication to customers is locally provided will allow some assurance that they are a top candidate.

6. Commitment to Clients

As your customers will also be those of the restoration provider, they too should have a commitment to keeping them happy. When providing their services, check their reviews to make sure that the services provided were not only effective but efficient in that the customers were not waiting too for the project to be completed. It is also important to see if they provide open and full communication with both you and the customer as all parties are fully knowledgeable and updated of the current situation.

7. Remaining Updated

Only the most competitive restoration companies will remain updated on the latest trends, technology, and methods of the industry to maintain their reputation. You may want to do some research on the restoration industry and see what all of the companies are doing to better serve their customers.

After the research, call each candidate and test them to see if they are keeping up with the industry. Ask them what they are doing to stay updated as well as any ongoing training sessions for their technicians. You will then be able to distinguish the vendors according to their responses on staying updated.

8. Licensed and Certified

When a restoration provider has earned its credentials from well-respected organizations, such as the Institute of Inspection Cleaning (IICRC), they are a trustworthy provider. After undergoing strict guidelines, tests, and inspections, only the top providers will pass as it has been recognized that they provide quality services. In addition, each technician will be highly trained before they are sent out to handle a major water or fire loss; they will be experts in their field and will know exactly how to proceed in order to minimize time and costs in repairs.

9. Contingency Planning and Commitment to Projects

Even after a natural disaster occurs, there can be additional challenges that come up during the restoration work. While this can be unexpected to you and the customer, it is the responsibility of the restoration provider to be prepared at all times.

Do some research of each candidate and ask them about their contingency planning process while discussing any projects completed in the past where they have had to solve the problem on-site.

10. Local and Personal Service

Depending on the size of your agency and the state you cover, it is best to look for a restoration provider that covers the areas in which the majority of your policy holders reside (each vendor covers specific counties in each state). In addition, it is important for them to service a variety of locations so they are able to accommodate as many new customers as possible.

They should also get to know the staff at your agency so both parties can become familiar with and better understand each others’ businesses. Once you have established a mutual foundation built on trust and respect, you can expect that they will deliver the same positive experience to your policy holders.

"Had a great experience working with Marshall when we had an emergency leak at my mom’s house. He immediately started working to salvage what we could. I felt like he absolutely understood the urgency, and treated my mom like his own! He and the rest of the team were super easy to work with and answered our (many) questions along the way. They were very transparent about the process which was extremely helpful as this was our first time with this kind of issue in 30+ years of owning the house. We so appreciate ProTech for aiding us during our time of need."

"My experience with ProTech was wonderful from the first visit thru the last. Ben did a great job of evaluating the work that needed to be done and explaining everything to me. Frank and Sergio were great to work with because they were pleasant AND they were so very careful about everything they did. All in all, I give the ProTech team an A+!"

"I had a pipe burst and subsequent leakage into my basement. At first I thought that we maybe stopped it in time since we could not see obvious damage but Marshall at ProTech said it would be a good idea to check it out anyway and came out within a couple of days. I’m so glad he did since there was more damage than we anticipated. Marshall explained the damage thoroughly using his imaging techniques and provided a quote within the day. Pricing was good and our insurance accepted the proposal immediately. The ProTech team was able to do the water damage mitigation about a week after the incident and on a Saturday no less. Everything was done super quickly and professionally. While I do not want to deal with any more water damage, the repairs using ProTech were painless. I would recommend this company and especially Marshall to anyone in the same situation."
