The following information is a list of services that might need to be checked to remediate and protect your property; furthermore, a brief description of each job is given to explain why it needs attention.

While not all of the services will need to be done, this checklist will assist in understanding the process in restoring your home or building. Identify the Source of the Problem and Prevent Additional Damage

A complete inspection utilizing probes, sensors, and moisture-detection meters, to identify the majority of the damage allows us to develop the most efficient plan for restoring your home or building to normal as fast as possible. Our examination might include finding possible insurance providers and providing photographic evidence.

Examine attic. Wet insulation, framing, and stored contents may need to be treated or protected.

Inspect basement. Basements need to be evaluated to develop proper drying procedures for water or moisture damage.

Inspect air duct vents. Ductwork will be evaluated for water seepage throughout affected spots, including floor vents.

Examine crawlspace. Water may leak into crawlspaces, if left untreated, may cause additional damage. Wet insulation and framing might need to be restored.

Protect your household items. We not only restore items from damage, but we provide a more effective environment for quicker, complete dehumidification. Protecting your belongings might include moving them into a different room or moving them off-site to our storage facility.

Perform water mitigation. Removing excess moisture minimizes damage and accelerates the dehumidifying time. Effective equipment and tools are needed to address all flooring layers, and the extraction of each layer may happen at various times.

Inspect Carpeting

Leave carpet and pad in place to dry out. Under certain conditions, we can leave the pad in place to dry.

Remove carpet from the tack strip, remove threshold coverings (when applicable) and open seams as required. This is done to prevent additional damage to your carpet fibers and furniture

Remove pad. Pad removal may have to be done to prevent additional damage, avoid microbial growth and provide a better environment for the drying process.

Remove unsalvageable carpet. Because of its current situation, your carpet may not make it through the remediation process.

Evaluate Other Flooring Materials

Tile: Dry in place or Replace (Your tile flooring is not restorable, or it is more cost-effective to remove it than to dry it in place.)

Vinyl: Dry in place or Replace (Nonporous flooring such as Pergo can hold water. It may be required to take out the laminate to dry the sub floor)

√ Sub floor: Dry in place or Replace (Your subfloor is not able to be restored, or it is more cost-effective to remove it than to dry it in place)

Inspect ceilings, walls, and cabinets

Remove baseboards. Depending on the type of baseboard, removal may be required to assist in drying the structure, finding moisture stuck between the baseboard and the wall

Drill holes in walls/sheetrock/ceilings for dehumidification/ventilation. Holes allow trapped moist air to come out quickly, preventing additional damage to sheetrock and framing. It will also inhibit any microbial growth.

Take off drywall/sheetrock. Due to the source of the moisture, the amount of the water exposed or visible destruction, the sheetrock may be unsalvageable. Replacement may simply be more cost-efficient than drying it in place.

Inspect the insulation. Dry in place or Replace (Your insulation is not salvageable, or it is more cost-efficient to take it out than to dry it).

Evaluate cabinets. Because cabinetry is not insulated and may allow water to seep in, evaluation is required and might include drilling holes or taking out the toe kicks.

Taking doors off the hinges. Removing a door from its hinges may be required to properly replace the flooring. It will also allow for better air circulation

Apply antimicrobials. Applying the appropriate antimicrobial chemical maintains dormant microbials from functioning while your rug or carpet is drying.

Apply Odor Control. Odors are a normal part of the drying process. Spraying appropriate odor control products will minimize all of the odors.

Install high-velocity air movers. Air movers are set up to allow for maximum efficiency of air flow across all materials, speeding up the rate of evaporation from the wet surfaces into the air.

Install dehumidifiers. Dehumidification removes the moisture in the air to assist the water in evaporating more effectively. It will also prevent additional damage to the home or building and items.

Explain future visits and requirements. Schedule next appointment and follow up steps, such as reading moisture levels, maintaining equipment, positioning equipment, etc. As every situation is different and drying times will vary, these extra appointments will guarantee fast drying and satisfaction to restoring your home or business.
